Was Delaying Battlefield Hardline A Good Idea?

If you’re not releasing a game that most players regarded as little more than a mod in feel was totally, “the right call,” says Battlefield Hardline executive producer and general manager of Visceral Games Steve Papoutsis.

“There’s no doubt moving the game back was the right call,” Papoutsis wrote in a letter on the game’s official website. “The improvements the team has added to the game with the extra time are making Battlefield Hardline the complete first person shooter experience we set out to deliver.”

Now that their new release date is on the horizon, it’s time for Visceral and EA to ramp up the Battlefield Hardline marketing machine, which means throughout these next 11 weeks, we can expect new trailers and posts to keep Hardline in the headlines. Also another multiplayer beta for all playforms sometime between now and mid-March.

“We know the Battlefield community is extremely passionate,” Papoutsis added. “We love the open, two-way dialogue we’ve been building with the community and want to keep that going leading up to and beyond launch.”

Barring any new dialogue sparked by the next beta, Battlefield Hardline will launch across Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 March 17th in North America and March 19 in Europe.
