Turtle Rock Studios, the developer for Left 4 Dead has finished development on upcoming 4v1 monster-hunting game Evolve, meaning the game has now “gone gold,” the studio announced earlier yesterday. Expect Evolve to be released on Feburary 10th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. By celebrating this milestone, the studio has released the intro cinematic trailer which you can watch below. Turtle Rock also announced that in an effort to raise money for the video game-themed Child’s Play charity, developers pledged to not shave their beards or cut their hair until Evolve passed certification. Turtle Rock said it would donate $50 per inch of beard grown and then cut. Now that the game has gone gold, Turtle Rock developers are shaving their faces, for a total of 227.5 lost inches of beard hair in all, for a total of $11,375 donation. Publisher 2K Games has matched Turtle Rock, bringing the total amount to$22,750. The Turtle Rock developers who shaved their heads and donated the trimmings to Locks of Love, a charity that gifts hair to children suffering from conditions that cause them to lose their hair.
