PS3 Only Does 3D Bikini Mags

by Annie Turner on January 7, 2011

Move over, Lara Croft – starting on or around February 15th, those gamers in dire need of a look at a busty chick via their game console can get themselves a downloadable verson of the venerable annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue…in 3D.

Yep, Kotaku is reporting that you will now be able to “read” SI’s Swimsuit Issue in 3D. Y’know, if you have a 3D TV. And are willing to wear the glasses for it. And willing to, y’know, actually pay for it.

Fancy!

The magazine issue will be available to rent or by via the PlayStation Network, and for those of you following along at home that don’t have a PlayStation 3, fear not! Sony & SI have you covered – you can rent (but not actually purchase, for some reason) your copy of the bikini mag through Sony’s Video On Demand powered by Qriocity program, which is available on select Sony Bravia television sets and BluRay disc players.

Also available through the PlayStation Network will be 12 – count ‘em – 12 hours of downloadable 3D bikini video footage, and in the PlayStation Store, you’ll be able to select from a few different Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Dynamic Themes available for purchase. And if you’re not sure whether or not you want to spend your hard earned pennies on something like this, a 3 minute sneak preview will be available for you to gawk at and make a more informed buying decision.

I guess if you can’t have your awkward and decidedly unsexy XXX-rated Kinect porn game (NSFW, obvs), this is a fair substitute?

The PlayStation 3: It Really DOES Only Do Everything! Except play PS2 games.

About the Author Annie Turner:
I'm an avid gamer that spends a lot of time saying things (about stuff) on the Internet. A PlayStation girl at heart, I also keep an XBox 360 around, just in case, as well as various handhelds and older consoles, because no matter how cool next gen gaming gets, the classics are called "classics" for a reason, friends and neighbors.
