Developer Mediatonic today announced FOUL PLAY: The Perilous and ENTIRELY ACCURATE adventures of Baron Dashforth!, a sidescrolling ‘theatre brawler’, for Xbox LIVE Arcade putting players in the shoes of Victorian deamon hunter Baron Dashforth as he finds himself kicking, beating and smashing his way through countless costumed extras in order to divulge his ‘ENTIRELY ACCURATE ‘ life story.
No announce date or pricing has been announced yet but what FOUL PLAY lacks in hard details it makes up for in big promises. ”Baron Dashforth is like James Bond crossed with Baron Munchausen, except set in the late Victorian era, and he fights daemons instead of evil dudes,”explains Mediatonic’s Creative Producer, Jeff Tanton, “As a studio, we’re focused on creating digital games that are packed full of life and character.”
With a back catalogue of games with titles such as MUST.EAT.BIRDS. (iOS, Mobile), Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess (Xbox 360, PSP), WTF!? (PSP, PC) and (my personal favorite) Inappropriate Llama Disaster (iOS), it’s hard to argue with such vibrant claims. Here’s hoping that FOUL PLAY can live up to the general insanity implied by it’s premise. In the meantime, I may have to start investigating how Mediatonic has lived up to the brilliant names of it’s previous games.
Anybody else thinking about checking out Inappropriate Llama Disaster or any of Mediatonic’s previous ludicrousness?
