Huzzah for more Alice: Madness Returns goodies to gawk at! We have five new images from the upcoming sequel to the classic American McGee’s Alice, and they’re all gorgeous. Which is, of course, as to be expected.

Alice: Madness Returns takes place 11 years after a fire left left her parents dead and Alice insane, and Alice has been released from the Rutledge Asylum into the care of a London doctor. She’s not exactly on the mend mentally speaking, however, and retreats back to her fantasy Wonderland world in hopes of finding some comfort. Instead, she finds it’s been warped by her madness once again, and a great evil is taking over.
Much like the first game, Madness Returns is a third person action horror game. Players will navigate Wonderland and fight using melee weapons like the Vorpal Blade seen above and apparently the unicorn mace thingie seen below, as well as some magical abilities, too.

Alice: Madness Returns will be released June 14th, and will be available for PC, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360. Check out some gameplay footage from GDC 2011:
I’m an avid gamer that spends a lot of time saying things (about stuff) on the Internet. A PlayStation girl at heart, I also keep an XBox 360 around, just in case, as well as various handhelds and older consoles, because no matter how cool next gen gaming gets, the classics are called “classics” for a reason, friends and neighbors.
