Wait, what?
Yes, that’s right. In what sort-of, kind-of came out of the left field parking lot — at least in terms of the announcement, not the demand — an official Blizzard representative confirmed on Twitter that Diablo III is indeed coming to consoles.
When? We have no idea. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that Diablo III is coming to consoles. Seriously, go back and read that last sentence a few more times.
Giggling yet? Awesome — now we can move on.
Anyway, I realize that this is good news only for those of us with PC’s/laptops that can barely even handle SNES ROM’s, but I mean — come on — this is quite the fantastically awesome news. And I don’t just use the “fantastically awesome” super-adjective to describe just anything you know.
Seriously though, is it really any wonder that this has actually come to fruition? I’ve been drunkenly spouting off to anyone who would listen over the last few years (not many) that console/PC exclusives only hurt the industry and gamers as a whole. Not all of us have enough money to blow on 19 different gaming systems and a PC that can effectively transport us into an alternate virtual reality.
I mean, I would totally be down with spending my money on that, but my kids need Lego’s and Lincoln Logs and shit, you know? Not to mention diapers cost a small fortune. But that is a precautionary tale for another day and time. Whatever, I’m ranting. And I only get like this when I’m excited, so let’s all just be incredibly grateful that Diablo III is indeed coming to consoles.
Now if only us ghetto console dorks can convince the higher ups to go all Red Rover, Red Rover and send The Old Republic right on over.
